GRID Autosport now available on Linux/Steam OS and Mac

Another AAA title comes to Linux and this time it's a racer. Is this the racing game Linux gamers have long been waiting for?

This, the third title in +Codemasters'  GRID series, aims to return to the TOCA spirit of driving, and it has received some excellent reviews (EDGE awarded it 9/10) for the PC version since its release in summer 2014, with Metacritic showing a 'generally favourable' score of 78.

GRID 2, released a year earlier, in 2013, received generally favourable reviews from critics, but there was an undercurrent of criticism and disappointment from a significant section of the public. This was mainly due to the arcade, unrealistic style of handling which was a departure from the first game in the series. But fair play to Codemasters for listening to the series' fans and designing GRID Autosport to sate the appetite of those wanting an experience that was closer to simulation than arcade; one that rewards players for skilful driving rather than dumbing down the handling and encouraging high-speed drifting.

Available on +Steam now for £24.99, with Linux and Mac versions published by London-based +Feral Interactive, this will no doubt please many Linux gamers, and hopefully will sell well enough to tip the balance further towards even more Linux releases.

Will you be buying your copy soon?
